* Plan for Health is available to patients who are uninsured, or whose insurance is not in contract. and comes in three different options:
- Plan for Health is NOT an insurance plan, but rather a dental insurance “alternative.”
- Plan for Health is available for use exclusively at Sycamore Family Dentistry.
- Plan for Health can not be combined with insurance or any other reduced fee dental plans.
- Plan for Health can be used for patients with out-of-network insurance whose treatment exceeds their maximum.
- Plan for Health is great for patients with dental desires like cosmetic work, rather than just oral health “needs.”

Are You Uninsured? Do You Have Insurance, But Aren’t In Network?
Dr. Lori Ross Tijerino is pleased to be able to offer you her own in-house dental discount plan, Plan For Health. Plan For Health is an alternative to dental insurance. It is a discount dental plan that works similarly to a Costco membership. You pay a fee up front*, and you get a discount on all the treatments performed while you’re a member. Unlike insurance, there are no annual limits, and it covers cosmetic as well as preventive and restorative care. Plan for Health covers cleanings, routine X-rays, periodic exams, and gives you a 20% discount on all procedures performed in this office for one year.
Many insurance savvy patients will think that most insurance will cover preventative at 100% and 20% might not seem great when compared to the 50-80% that insurance plans generally cover restorative procedures. But when you consider that Plan for Health has no limit compared to a $1,000- $1,500 limit most insurance plans have, and Plan for Health covers more preventative treatment at 100% than most insurance plans, and Plan for Health covers cosmetic procedures, Plan for Health starts to be a better value than many insurance plans.
